Who are we?

Groovii Biscuit was originally a partner/door-bitch/ performer in Club Kooky 1995-1999. She has a good knowledge of and respect for the Kooky core.

Lea Simpson is a card-carrying Club Kooky veteran and has a background in archives and art libraries.

Why do we want to do this?

We think Kooky had significant effect on a lot of people’s lives. It helped build and shape identity, relationships, personal histories, and significant artistic and musical expression. It has contributed strongly to Australia’s cultural landscape, but is under-documented in the historical record of this city, as well as the historical record of subcultural movements. We would like to see this cultural contribution recognised and immortalised.
