Kooksters: the people of Club Kooky

We are looking for your contribution to the Kooksters book project. This project seeks to collect stories and artefacts from the Club Kooky community in order to document, reveal, and respectfully create a portrait of this cultural phenomena. We want to record the histories of the Kookster community, the relationships formed within the community, and the social, cultural and artistic impact of that community.

Lets make history: how to contribute to the Kookster Archive

We want your stories. We want to know how your Club Kooky experiences have impacted you. We are seeking contributions from onstage and off: the tales of performers, punters, the spectacle and it's spectators. Your memory contribution can be as long or as short as you like.

This is what we need from all you beautiful Kooksters:
  • Descriptions of influential or significant memories/moments/experiences that occurred at Kooky. Check out Groovii Biscuit's contribution for a large dose of inspiration.
  • Images, documentation, or artifacts of your Kooky experiences. Photos, video, costumes, artworks that you cannot part with will be photographed, catalogued and returned.
  • Significant relationships formed within this community. Can you describe a relationship you built here?
  • Did you perform at Club Kooky? We are compiling a catalogue of Kooky performances spanning all 18 years of glory. For the index we are seeking Year, Venue, Title of performance, Artist name (and collaborators), Performance type, Description (this is where you can detail the performance narrative, plus any delicious vignettes about how it came about).
  • Recommendations of a Kooky regular/superstar you think is important to include in this project.

You can write it and email or snail mail, or we can meet and do a face-to-face interview.
